Hervé Debbah – Chairman of SINOVIA

On graduating from Paris VI in 1983, with a Masters in Information Technology and Artificial Intelligence, Hervé began a career as an engineer and project manager with Alcatel and Thomson. Actively participating in the national post automation plan, together with CGA-HBS, Hervé implemented the very first real time algorithms for reading postal addresses.

Conscious of what automatic reading technologies could bring to the tertiary sector, Hervé set up SWT in April 1988. Within ten years it had become the French leader in the conversion of paper documents to electronic format. Following successful launches in Great Britain, Spain and the United States, Hervé’s efforts were rewarded in 2005, with the highly desirable merger of SWT with Captiva Software, the world leader in this field. The group was sold back to EMC² six months later, boosted by the technological skills it offered, and by SWT’s strong presence in Europe.

At the end of 2005, Hervé Debbah set up Parness Innov, which allowed him to assume his role as an investor involved in developing companies with high value added.

Daniel Vaniche – Vice-Chairman of SINOVIA

A Graduate of Ecole Polytechnique and Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées (the National School of Highways). Architecte DPLG (Registered Architect).

Project manager, then technical director at MMI, the French engineering agency, in 1998, Daniel founded the architecture and engineering agency DVVD. In January 2001 he joined SWT, the company founded by Hervé Debbah, producing software for the conversion of documents from paper to digital format. At the end of 2002, he was appointed Vice-Chairman of the company, overseeing marketing, the company’s international strategy and the management of its subsidiaries. It grew by more than 400% in three years.

In July 2005, after having helped Hervé Debbah to secure the success of the merger of SWT with Captiva, the American leader in the field, Daniel became the group’s manager for Europe, Africa and the Middle East (EMEA), achieving growth of over 70% per quarter, year after year.
